The Estate
Tenuta di Monte Chiaro

The Montechiaro estate is a XVIIIth century villa surrounded by pittoresque and tiny village with medieval origines.

Montechiaro Estates is located 10 km from Siena. It lies on 160 Ha of land, 10 of which are vineyards surrounded by 2000 olive trees.

The panoramic views are outstanding, particularly the view of Siena in the distance and the panoramic view of rolling hills with vineyards and olive groves.

The Territory of Montechiaro

Montechiaro is located in a privileged panoramic position, surrounded by gentle hills, centuries-old olive groves, and renowned vineyards. The village and its surroundings tell ancient stories: Etruscan traces, Roman remains, and a medieval heritage still alive in the architecture and local traditions.

Just a few minutes from the estate lies the historic center of Siena, a symbol of the Italian Middle Ages, famous for the Palio, Piazza del Campo, the Gothic Cathedral, and its contrade (districts). It is a city of art that retains a timeless atmosphere, ideal for those seeking an authentic experience away from mass tourism.

The Enogastronomic Excellence

The land surrounding Montechiaro has been dedicated to agriculture and the production of food and wine excellence for centuries. Our estate is part of this tradition with respect and passion, following the rhythms of the land and enhancing local products.

Wine and olive oil: pillars of rural culture
Fine wines such as Chianti Colli Senesi, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are expressions of Tuscan savoir-faire.

Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, fragrant and full-bodied, is a central element of the local cuisine and our own production.

Traditional Tuscan cuisine

Sienese gastronomy is simple yet rich in authentic flavors:

  • Handmade pici pasta, served with wild boar ragù or aglione (giant garlic) sauce;

  • Game meats and cured meats from Cinta Senese pigs;

  • Hearty soups such as ribollita and acquacotta;

  • Traditional desserts like panforte, ricciarelli, and cantucci with Vin Santo.

Every dish is a tribute to the farming heritage of this land and to the importance of seasonality and short supply chains.

The Hospitality and Welcoming Atmosphere

The land surrounding Montechiaro, in the heart of the Sienese countryside, has always been dedicated to authentic hospitality—marked by simplicity, human warmth, and deep respect for the beauty of the landscape.

Here, hospitality is part of the local culture. It’s not just about accommodations, but a way of life—a way of opening the doors of one’s land and time to those who come from afar. It’s a slow, sincere, and deeply Tuscan form of welcome.

Our estate fits naturally and harmoniously into this context, offering a place where guests can fully experience the spirit of the region. Nestled among vineyards, olive groves, and woods, it is designed to welcome those who wish to slow down, breathe clean air, and rediscover the pleasure of simple things.

The spaces are carefully curated with respect for rural architecture, and every corner—from the panoramic pool to the surrounding trails—invites rest, contemplation, and discovery. Here, hospitality is not a service, but a daily gesture, a way of being.

The Unique Experiences

The estate is located in a region that captures the very essence of the most authentic Tuscany: harmonious landscapes, unspoiled villages, and living traditions.

Just a few minutes away lie the wonders of Siena—a city of art and spirituality—and the medieval villages of Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, and Pienza, guardians of beauty and history.

The landscape invites you to slow down: walks through the fields, scenic trails to explore on foot or by bike, and restorative silence among cypress trees, vineyards, and olive groves.

Visitors to Montechiaro can enjoy authentic experiences: farmers’ markets, seasonal festivals, village fairs, artisan workshops, and quiet moments along the ancient Via Francigena.

Every season offers new reasons to return: spring blossoms, summer sunsets, autumn foliage, and the peacefulness of winter.
